Bento & Chat. How It All Came Together in Just Four Weeks

When I say Bento & Chat came together quickly, I mean it. We had just four weeks to make it happen.

The first win was securing the venue. Once that was sorted, the next step was getting people to actually attend. I jumped onto Eventbrite, registered the event, and hit publish. Since it was a free event, there was no pressure to sell tickets or worry about meeting sales targets. I just wanted good numbers and great energy. A few posts on Instagram and TikTok, plus sharing the details with friends and contacts, was all it took to get the word out.

Next, I needed a clear format for the day. One thing I knew for sure was that I didn’t want a lacklustre event. I wanted something hands-on, interactive, and memorable. That is where the idea for the working station came in. Every attendee had the chance to decorate their own bento cake using real cake tools, and that became the magic touch that set the event apart.

Of course, no good gathering is complete without food, drinks, and music. I made sure the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with plenty of laughs, questions, photos, and new connections being made. It was exactly the vibe I had hoped for.

Another exciting highlight was the launch of my apron. I took a batch with me and sold almost all of them on the spot, such a lovely addition to the day. Now, I am working on the next batch for a proper launch.

Bento & Chat truly delivered on every level. A special thanks to my little dream team, my brother and my twin girls, for their help in making it happen. Now I am on the quest to find the next venue so we can bring this event back even bigger and better.

Watch this space. Bento & Chat will return.
